OVER!! Exams are OVER! And I am officially overkill. BEC probably killed me. Too early to tell but I may well be sitting for my first ever supplementary paper ate the beginning of my third year.

Well, I got to start somewhere. But hey lets not kill chickens before they even hatch.

At the end of the exams, looking back in retrospective, this has to be the most challenging semester without question.

I mean in term of hard the subjects are.. Well geez, it has to be challenging if you have a lecturer that is perpetually having a menstrual cycle on overdrive, another that comes into class and talks about his wife, kids and 102 girlfriends, and my personal favorite, the lecturer that teaches us by having us listen to student presentations and not tell us he is going to use those random journals for the exams. Whoop-dee-do.

The taking of a part-time job, probably wasn't the wisest choice I made. Because of that, I saw how good people change for the worst. But in that process I did gain alot more from that loss.

Being desperate for attention and affection is no good? Yeah I would say it isn't. But I'll just wait for the time I can go I told you so. As of now, I'll be ignorant.

Ooo thats one more skill I acquired, to be ignorant. Opinions, no matter how right it is, is usually not welcomed. I learned this from church, from uni and from a select few of my "friends". People just don't want to hear that they have made a mistake. This thankfully, doesn't happen withing my close circle of friends.

There are good things happening as well though. A lot of it. Probably the reason why I can still smile at the end of it all.

Hanging Up the Green Apron

Yeah people! Ya heard!? Its all true as of this time next month I shall no longer be a Starbucks Barista. I will tender my resignation in the coming days.

The reason? Well something that was said last week - The fact that we just load ourself up with more responsibilities and even more responsibilities after that and later complain bout not having the time for oneself to relax - really got to me.

So obviously it doesn't take long for me to come to the conclusion that amidst my ever growing assignment workload and church duties perhaps it is better I do not load myself with a side job which I took at a whim being backed by a university buddy who has some what changed for the worst since recent events and doesn't realize it (but who am I to judge her, its her life), with me not really needing the money much.

SO.. three days worth of deliberations and after seeking counsel with my inner circle of advisors I decided to call it quits today. I have to say I'm feeling quite good about it.

There are other inside factors, though none of them major factors, made it very much easier for me to come to this conclusion, however there are those who I will not forget during this lifetime and I hope they are blessed the way they have been a blessing to me.

And so with a slightly heavy heart and lifted burden from my back I prepare to bid thee goodbye green apron, thou hast been funeth whileth it lasteth.

"A man's discernment often leads to him making a choice he doesn't want to make," - Sypher 2008.

There is three things a man cannot escape; death, judgement and change. Lately changes have left me having to step out of my own comort zone and forcing me to take a wider view of the rosy picture I've painted for myself and I realize that where I dwell is but a place where a person like me has no place. Or so I thought.

I shall not name any names, though as tempted as I am to give these people a piece of my mind, has made me question certian things that go on in church. Question it so much in fact that I barely recognized that place anymore.

But some how things that God put in my life more recently forced me to take step further back to realized I'm not meant to drone on these things. I was given these gifts by God and as little as these gifts are, it is meant to glorify He who gave me the gifts. Yeah sounding a little happy clappy but its true, I get so wound up in my overthinking I forget the fundamentals of the faith which is to forgive.

And so as of today no matter how much *blank* I go through this blog shall edify and not ridicule.

Its been a long, LONG time since I last blogged so as you can tell I've turned to a hibernating blogger once again.

The 2 reasons for this frequent phenomenon is that I am either...
a) Too busy with my life to blog
b) There is nothing worth blogging about

Today however I need to rant. This has been a bad week, somewhat. An this is a tale of two people.

Price of petrol has gone up. Agitated that Malaysians are so cheapskate that they have to clog up the highways and streets to get petrol before the price hike is such a Malaysian thing to do. And we say Singaporeans are 'Kia Su'. That was irritation number one.

Irritation number two is a person I shall call 'Queen'. Queen is a person who, I don't know how to put this...
a) expects you to call him/her and asking him/her if he/she is car pulling with you the next day instead of calling you to inform you.

or..

b)Deems it his/her right to let you drive to his/her place the next morning, wasting your petrol (which has gone up in price by 40% mind you) and time just to find out you didn't have to pick him/her up.

or BOTH.

And this is the second time. (Well he/she was sick the 1st time this happened so its forgiven)

And has the cheek to ask "why am I always making him angry?".

Now suddenly he/she drives.

The funny thing is this, I'm not angry that he/she doesn't drive eventhough he/she can. Its the 'not informing me or another person in the carpool that you're not coming' part that irritates me. A simple sorry would suffice but I guess some people are above that.

The other major irritation happened today. You say something wrong, your friends/groupmates in good humour tease you about it and you...

Blow up (may be too strong a word) in their faces.

Then once you cool down, you ask a person that you scolded for no reason why is he/she sulking, and scold him/her again because he/she is angry at you for (insert matter stated earlier). Any apologies? Didn't think so.

Fair? Very I guess, by the world's standards.

Yeah I sound fickle but hey if you don't rant after being put in these situations and not by means of ignorance, gimme an e-mail, You can be my mentor.

On to other stuff that annoy me is... Office politics.

I'm no employee of the month, but I do my job and I do it somewhat well. But blaming me because I have other more pressing responsibilities (my church, my dog, my house) than going to some trip up in the highlands is a wee bit unfair. But owh well. Hate me all you want.

Yeah its been quite a week. I'm tired.

Video Blogging was a dumb idea.

Feeling like a useless half wit now.

*Bangs head on table*

I

am

a

useless,

good

for

nothing,

clueless

jerk.

Yes that may not be enough to sum it up.

Basically, what do you call failing no matter how hard you try, many, many times?
Answer? Pulling a Kelvin.

Monday, May 12, 2008

Hey all,

Its been a long, LONG time since the last update. This blog has somewhat died and to be quite frank I may not be updating as frequently as I used to. Picture and video blogging eh?

Well, I've finished my internship with The Star newspaper, a truly enlightening experience to the job market I've offered myself to. There is the good and the bad. I did not opt to extend and boy was I glad when it was over. I spent more money then I earned.

My baby's B'day also passed. Many plans on that day. Poor planing for the last one, which seemed more like people trying to use us for transportation (Well I was notified of the time in the afternoon of that very day even though it has been planned for a week in advance. I only knew I had to pick people 3 hours before the event. You tell me). Baby was somewhat upset, I was furious. So I brought her out for shopping the next day for her presents.

The next week we had another B'day celebration with Jee and Whales (Jee confirmed my suspicions) and we watched the very first commercial screening of Iron Man in Sunway Pyramid. The show was highly enjoyable and It was nice to see baby enjoying herself.

And so the celebrations are over and I'm short of cash. So i took up a job as a barista. Doing well so far and I am enjoying it. Updates on the job soon.

Now on to my personal ramblings.

LIFE is like a hollywood movie. Its always about a girl and things change at such a fast pace you wouldn't believe it. I'm going thru some major adjustments like returning to my duties in church and the ministry I serve in as well as nuturing a relationship.

In terms of the relationship, it has not been all sweet roses. Still working on it and hopefully we'll get it right. Need to iron out these minor lump before the battle with time and distance.

On another note.

So many things happened while I was away. Someone left, reasons are unknown to me still. All I know there was a breakdown involved. Why and how is still not known and I fear it will never be. This same person also slammed the phone on me after I declined his invertation to go out for supper due to Mother's Day practice. At mothers day practice more things happened which I will not mention here. Avoidable, people related 'mishaps' (I use mishaps because I cannot find a better word) which I may not understand completely.

But they happen and still life goes on. The person who slammed the phone on me, has in the past caused me strife and I just don't indulge in his company anymore. Eventhough sorries have been said sometimes you forgive but you heart and mind doesn't let you forget. I think he knows how that feels now and I sympatize with him, its a sucky feeling. All the best to you in your soul searching.

I've looked up to people, and often times I'm let down. Because people are people I guess. My Dad always asked me, "If God was perfect why did he create something after his own likeness that isn't perfect?,". I think I'm slowly understanding why.

Owh well and life goes on.

Time passes so slowly on days you want to leave early and you never have enough energy for the day you want to work late.

But for me, I never want to work late if not paid well.

***

There has been talks of boicotting the Malaysian newspapers circulating through SMSs and e-mails because of unfair media coverage which usually favors the ruling party.

Well being a citizen alone I would so agree with that statement and would be one of the first to do so.

But a note to consider* - My arrogant and ignorant uncle says that he hasn't been reading the news papers for 6 months and instead comes over and sells my gullible mother rumors which validity is really unknown (My uncle's a tall tale kinda person, acts like he knows alot but really, knows squat). And my mom would buy it (my disliking for my Mom's choices are another thing altogether).

So where are you gonna get your news?

The internet? Malaysiakini perhaps. A site, though giving Malaysians an alternative to news, is lop-sided towards the opposition and hell bent to goventment bashing in the way they write. We'll thats just my opinion. Maybe support the online versions of The Star, NST and the Sun? Give them a chance to start charging for it? Or just be as ignorant as my 'uncle'.

Now I'm speaking as a person who has been in the media scene.

People do not realize that The Star has been closed down for persuing investigative journalism and uncovering more than it should have. So fear to cross that line is still there. People are still trying to make a living. And the rest of the news publications are just learning from that mistake. Not to mention the political ties of newspaper companies and the segment parties of the ruling coalition.

That what these people sending out those SMSs and e-mails don't understand. This not so free press is the doing of the ISA and OSA the PPPA all those As. Reporters are humans, with bills to pay, families to provide for, loans to pay for and etc. So get of you high horses and start bringing down the ISA, OSA and PPPA if you want a balanced press not boicot the newspapers.

Its been a bad month for me. Within this month I've had financial, relationship, family and personal problems.

My GF's phone was snatched earlier this month and recently had a boo-boo on the road. Had me worried sick. Had quarrels too.

My income is not lving to the out put. I spend RM100 on petrol alone every week. Four weeks in a month makes the grand total RM400. My income is a measly 300 smacks. Tough.

Ah family problems. Mother dearest is at it again. in 1999 she shifted to Subang with out consulting me at least. And I had to live the the consequence. In 2004 I shifted to USJ 3 just because of feng shui talk between my cocker uncle and my mom buying all the, to me, hogwash. And again, the person who had to uproot everything and do heavy lifting, reschdule all activities be acuse of the heavy lifting is the father and the kids, naming ly the son, because he has teh muscles. And lets make it a third one. This year she said lets renovate. After hearing what the neighbours had said while comparing houses, she decided she didn't want to lose out. And after many sleepless nights, now I have to lift stuff, endure my mom's poor decisions and bad timing and all the holier than thou rantings.

My mom is like the BN govenment. More often then not, it doesn't deliver. Yeah, yeah, be grateful you wretch. I can almost hear some of the 'people' say. Well its not a sin to disagree you bunch of holy bags.

M and my man bro have been having problems of late. Again I feel their pain. Gossip mongers putting unneeded pressure on. I'm really angered by those douche bags.

Ahh but there is good news. No one got killed and everyone is strengthened because of it. The month seems to be smoothing out. I've learned and become a better person. More understanding too I hope.

Thanks to people who I least expected for supporting me.

Ja-ne.

One of the little wonders.

Its been a busy two weeks. I haven't had the chance to upload pictures let alone blog. I got tagged by eileen so I would have to do this. I don't usually do all these things but i really have no photos to blog with.

So here it goes...

1. When you look into the mirror…
It cracks

2. When did you last saw someone picking their nose?
When I looked into the mirror? LOL

3. What are you doing now?
Actually replying this nonsensical meme as I have nothing to do at work right now.

4. What would be the best birthday present?
Anything from people I love would be good... I guess the present really doesn't matter. It the person i receive it from.

6. Who annoyed you recently?
Hmmm I shall not name names as I want to keep the peace. Just note that Two-faced people disgust me. It worst if they have a tendency to back stab.

7. Where did you meet your loved one? If you have yet to find, where do you plan to meet him/her?
In the hall way of my university. Yeah I know lame right? I can't go like we bumped into each other while we were busy looking at the stars and we suddenly fell in love *cheese cheese cheese*. I live in reality unfortunately.

8. How will you use this meme for the benefit of mankind?
I shall benefit mankind by not tagging anyone and subjecting them to such torture. LOL

The Rocket Has Lauched

The opposition has finally denied Barisan National 2/3 majority. As of today Kedah, Perak, Pulau Pinang and Selangor joins Kelantan, being ruled by opposition parties.

This interesting turn of events will give a chance to PKR and DAP to prove their worth. Quite frankly, being Chinese. I place no trust in PAS.

The people have spoken. Lets see how the opposition does. Lets see whether the corruption level goes down. BN need to change.

Ask Yourself...
(I've had enough of the unfair advantage and low tactics deployed by BN.)

Ask yourself what do you really want?

Do you want good job prospects?

Eighty thousand Malaysian graduates are jobless (New Sunday Times)

Do you want you family to be safe and well?

Shaline still missing and Nurin murdered. NST reported that Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said the number of serious crimes increased by 13.36 per cent nationwide last year, with gang robbery without the use of firearms rising by more than 159 per cent. HINDARF activists.

Do you want your children to be prepared for the future?

A government survey in Malaysia finds most graduates unemployed are Malays with poor English language skills, irrelevant degrees. (New Straits Times)

Top local universities are out of the top 100 worlds best list. Overtaken by Singapore and Australia.

Do you want to be n a place where life is good, peaceful and stable?

Petrol set to go up again. Food stuff prices also going up. Ridiculous taxation on imported items of superior quality to protect low quality Malaysian products. Proton for example. If other cars were not stapled with such a high tax tag, Proton wouldn't be able to compete. Unlike their Korean counterpart, Hyundai & SsangYong, who thrived under the competition.

Do you want to make Malaysia better and stronger?

There are those overseas who still believe that Malaysia is a jungle country. I don't blame them. We have Datuk Zainudin Maidin, the Minister of 'Information' who stuttered so badly when being interviewed by Al-Jazeera that he made Jin look like an amature rapper. Not to mention he contradicted himself so many times when talking about democracy. Let this be known people, the democracy in Malaysia is like the Sultan.

Then we have our sleeping Prime Minister. Nuff said.

This 8th of March what are you voting for?

The choice is in your hands.
So who are you voting for? This are some of the issues in Malaysia. There are so many others. Our former Prime Minister admitting to using the police to his own ends (throwing Anwar Ibrahim in jail), Petronas making 80 billion of nett revenue and petrol is still set for a rise and many more (Lingam and Pak Lah's nepotism practices).
Barisan National have an unfair advantage of media and press coverage. Besides that they play dirty. Theresa Kok from DAP, an opposition party fell pray to a slanderous poster put up by Carol Chew, the BN candidate. Not only that, Hannah Yeoh was recently hit with vicious rumors that said she was pregnant. Low tactics deployed by a party desperate to hold on to power so that they can misuse the people again.
So before you get taken in by those BN ads on TV and radio, remind yourself what you really want.
Free Malaysia.

Food Where History Lies
Last Saturday, Baby-V and I took a day trip down to Melaka to catch a friend of ours Chelle, who is performing at the GACC (forgot what it stood for but it has something to do with Games and Anime). This would be my second time attending such an event.
Well we were mostly there for the her performance only. Don't get me wrong, I love Anime and I am an avid gamer but bad cosplaying leaves little to be desired. I magine a round Allen Walker(Dgray-man) or a fat and short Sephiroth (Final Fantasy 7). Don't get me wrong, I admire their courage but it rather a kill joy. There are lots of cute, short and round Anime characters that would suit them better.
There were some good ones though. The Malaysian Hardo Gay made an appearence. That dude is barking mad. But he was in character and we fitted the bill. Tall as hell. There were cute kimono girls here and there. Even the the Counter Terrorists team from CS made an appearence.
The man who cosplays women made an appearence again. He does look like a girl. However, sticking true to my homophobic tendencies, I feel that its wrong that he should enjoy cross dressing so much. Also because of those tendencies I did not take any photos of the dude.
Counter Terrorist win. They caught a terrorist! These guys are actually from gamers hideout. Dude I frequent that place.

Gundam models on display in a room. If only I could break in... to take better close up. LOL

This is Chelle and the band Pg 168. These guys were tight. All the best persuing stardom.

Ok so at this point we were already bored. So we decided to cruise the town is search of food. Forget the historical sites, show me the food! Though because of the time constraint and because we were without a guide, we only went to a few places.

Cruising Melaka on Foot!

Seu Lean Fung

This place was awesome. The third place in my list of the best curry mee around. It only loses out to the one in Kajang and Sarawak.

Oldschool Chinese Kopitiam. Making good noodles for generations. LOL

My bowl of noodles. Lots of chicken meat and potatoes. The curry actually tastes like curry! Its not the watered down version I get back in Subang.

The noodles only costs RM2.50 for a small bowl and 3.50 for a big one. I felt that it was really a good price. And we found it while walking down the street looking for a place to eat coz we couldn't decide what to have for breakfast.

And next...

Shopping in Jonka Street

The girls absolutely loved this part of the trip. I have to say, I was impressed with what some of these shops had to offer. A gun shaped lastik for rm5, a kendo stick for RM10 and a wooden replica od a katana. They even sold a bunch of really interesting souverneirs for a real low price... Well considering.

Then came lunch....

Ming Satay House.
You cannot stop by Melaka and not go for pork satay. At 50 cents a stick this satay beats even the one in Kajang (it overrated, really). Plus its pork. They even served Hong Kong Style drinks.

The Satay-man Can.

Then for desert...

We stopped by the cafe next door called Nadeje Cafe. Now this cafe was a classier establishment from the rest and it served a very interesting sorta dessert. Alcoholic cocktails are also cheaper here.

CALPIS hibiscus tea soda. Or something like that.

Don't be fooled by the tea and soda. This baby had alcohol. A good dose of it. Not enough to knock a drinker like me out but it tasted good.

Now on to the desserts...

Banana Chocolate Crepe cake.

Chocolate crepe cake.

Its basically layers upon layers of crepe with cream seperating the layers. Tastes so good! To bad I haven't found any restauraunt of the same kind in KL. Can't compare.

Well I have to get a better camera. The Nikon Coolpix L3 seems to blur out the picture with the slightest movement. Loads of other photos were ruined.

We went for Cendol and some onde-onde after that. The Cendol was so-so but the onde-onde was scrumptous. The gula Melaka melts in your mouth. After that we went to get the ever commercialized chicken rice balls for dinner to go. Wanted to go for the Hainan chicken rice mentioned by Sean but I wasn't sure which stall it was and so I didn't want to risk it. Plus It was getting late.

It rained cats and dogs as well. LOL.

Well thats all folks. Ja-ne.

On Friends Who, Like Wine, Grows Better With Age.

Let me just highlight the one thing that might have been a frowner last Sunday, some idiot stole my baby's phone at the MIDVALLEY KTM station. This shall be know as the 'incident'.

Well lets begin.

It was the weekend I was looking forward to the whole of last month. Celebrating the birthdays of 3 very important people to me outside my family.

1. Iain Low
The dude I consider the most 'GAY' straight guy ever and my best bud.
2. Tan Jee Yee

The aspiring artist, and future writer

3. Pauline "WHALE" Wong The only person I can say I enjoy verbally abusing (She fights back mind you) and our resident goblok.

Well as you can see, I'm broke this month so you can write all your donation cheques to 'The Save a Resident Retard' foundation. All donations are highly appreciated.

We ate at Chilli's Midvalley for Pauline and Jee's celebration.

Goodness, the portions are huge. I have to say that after the main course I was stuffed and could hardly eat anymore but some how I downed dessert, I'm so proud! Everything was well worth the money. I have to say that I was happy after that. Here's what we had.

This is what I had, the Swiss Mushroom Burger. The burger was so huge and tall I had a problem getting a bite in.

This was what Jee had. The Monteray Chicken. The chicken was packed up so well it was so hard to cut, but the meat was surprisingly tender.

This was what my baby had. I forgot the name. I will edit it in. She had such a hard time finishing it.

This is what Whales had. Lamb Shoulder Steak - Med Rare. So tender and juicy! The tastes was so good. The mash potatoes were some of the best I ever had. The fries were good too.

Well we got dessert on the house cause it was their birthday. Well they didn't want the staff to come out and sing to them, they said it was embarassing. I had other plans.

I went of to tell a member of the staff to set a little somthing up to surprise them. It was spoilled when a waitress came to confirm the order with me infront of them. But it was good nonetheless.

After that the girls went off to do what they do best. Shopping. The guys went to the arcade where, I let the Birthday Boy win (I'm denying that I suck so badly at arcade games LOL). Well we then called it a day after baby bought a pair of killer heels. 4-inches I think.

Ok The KTM was late again! So of course the people piled up quite badly. Two guys of of them were not actually there to get on the train. Thats when the 'Incident' happened. The rush of people was so bad that I couldn't get out of the train to give chase to those idiots. Damn junkies. Be aware of a tall gay looking Malay man wearing a sholl and metallic pink nike's together with a short dweeb, also malay, with a hunched back.

Luckily, baby kept her composure and immediately barred her phone. It was quite impossible to trace the phone so that was the least she could do, so that she'll get back both her number and credit.

Still the day continues and we refused to let the the incident put us down on such a good day.

Next was Iain's surprise party. A 20 year old celebrating his birthday at A&W. LOL. Funny ain't it? He actually has loads of younger siblings (by young I mean YOUNG). Well the surprise didn't really work coz it was spoiled when he spotted the lot of them at the restauraunt. Though he did get a surprise later, when we dunked him into the pool, with me dealing the final push (What are best buds for bro!). After that I sent a few people home and then spent some time with baby before going home.

Here's to the silver lining being the larger portion of the day.

Happy birthday guys! Cheers.

Ja-ne.

Hello people! Finally reformatted my computer and these are the Valentine's Day update. I'm sure most of you celebrated Valentine's and the rest of you celebrated Single's Awareness Day (S.A.D).

Went to One Utama to celebrate. It was a few days later so... we didn't celebrate it commercially like the rest of the world.

At Carl's Jr for lunch.

I liked the chocolate fair's deco.

Carl's Jr. Chilli Beef Fries. Awesome stuff.

Portabello Mushroom Burger. It was huge!

After lunch I brought Baby-V to Bakerzin. She's always wanted to go there but we've never been there. So I'd thought I'd feed the dessert monster in the both of us.

Bakerzin's Coupe de Black Forest

The three tapas we ordered, kinda forgot the name.

After the sweeties, we went to see the crawlies at the reptile fair. Well not much from that trip.

*hiss* *hiss*

3 days, 2 cancellations, 3 press realeases.

I have to say, being in the crime desk is killing my passion for the art of journalism. Its been hard for me to cope as I'm more often than not left to struggle on my own.

Just when I'm getting the hang of it, the election hits. The police don't give you a heads up when they cancel PC's.

A little bit more of this and I might not want to come back to journalism.

Jumper.

Now ladies, I know Hayden Christensen is hot but the dude can't act. Jumper was left dry and isn't a movie with a wow factor.

Even Rachel Bilson's acting wasn't too good. I wasn't impressed. However it must be hard for the movie to come right after the last movie I saw, Sweeny Todd, which was an awesome movie.

The story is about young David Rice who suddenly gets the power to teleport money, moving cars, double decker buses and a whole lot more. This was all done by fantastic special effects.

But then again there is a force on Earth that is so dense that it apparently can't be moved even by the movie's special effects. Christensen's wooden acting.

David is then hunted by his nemesis, a paladin, who a black man with white hair, Samuel L. Jackson. Well now we know why his movie choices have been bad (Snakes on a Plane and now this) , His head isn't getting enough nutrients his hair is turning white. Soon he won't have any hair.

He believes the gift of being anywhere at anytime is a gift that only God should have. So he goes around killing all of them. "Your kind all trun evil sooner or later," then *STAB*.

Wow real cool Mr. Jackson.

Well I did leave the movie wanting Hayden's power.

Well HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY.

*Teleports* Ja-ne.

Everybody Was Kung Fu Dunking~

The Lunar New Year holidays have ended! Back to work for me. But in light of the charitable spirit of CNY I decided to go support the basketball movie that was doomed to fail with my ever present partner in crime, Baby-V.

Its the action packed,
The high kicking,
The side spliting,
And UNBELIEVABILY LAME....

KUNG FU DUNK!

Featuring the forever stoned actor, Jay Chou. I had the choice to go see another movie by the master of Chinese comedy, Stephen Chow, but you would want watch that over and over again, so I'll just wait to visit my neighbourhood pirate.
Usually one would comment about bad acting or bad storylines or both.
Well you can throw the storyline, character development, basically the entire show, out the window. The fact that Jay is a horrible actor was the saving grace. Just watching his facial expressions is comedy enough.
Oh yes and he made an 'act cute' pose. Oh you people could have sensed that it was only a matter of time be fore he did the whole 'clam' thing.
Everything else in that movie was nonsensical. There is no way in hell basketball is played in such a manner. After watching that, 'Shaolin Soccer' felt realistic.
Jay's character Fang Shi Jie is a orphaned misfit (its always a misfit) from a dysfuctional martial arts school. His original master died tragicly after freezing himself to death by his own 'Kung Fu' (dumb right!?). A few unfortunate events, unrealistic dunks, impossible shots and a 'time altering' Kung fu later he finds out that his father is the richest man in the country.
It did loosely mimic the ever popular manga, Slam Dunk. Very loosely. If the rumors are correct, Takehiko Inoue was right to reject Kevin Chu from making it Slam Dunk the movie.
But I will give it one thing, it was funny.
*smirks* Ja-ne.

A Doggy Dog Sunday.

Meet my dog. He's a mongrel quite cleverly disguised as labrador retriever. A smart and rather naughty one this one. Thank you Hafutota for the loyal companion, which as you can see, is growing quite well. Carlsberg be it's name.

Gong Xi Fa Chai! Xing Nian Kuai Le!

Greetings of prosperity and good fortune to all friends and readers, be you Chinese or just joining the festivities.

Well I'm spending the Lunar New Year at home by myself. Why so sad? I actually prefer this to the 'festivities' at my hometown. Thats a tale for another time. Work, work, is my excuse.

I haven't written my yearly thank you post so I will do so now in the light of the current festivities.

First off I'd like to thank Baby-V for all the support and love shes given me. Then there's Whales and Hafutota for being such good friends and giving me words of wisdom (though the last one, I don't think I have it in me to do, Hafutota).

Next, to Mekz, HS, Ista, Kevin, Baiti, Arystle and IngYeen for making working at The Star so much more fun. See you guys on Monday .

To Shern Ming, Way and Jiian, a.k.a. The Bang Bros, for making basket ball in 19 more challenging again.

Ksuan and PandaRae, thanks sistahz for all the good times and helping me through the bad. Iain and Mien, I thank you, for just being you. Iain, all the best in your pursuit of 'happyness'. It'll work out for the best. For you too Mien Mien.

To Stanley, thanks bro. I'm sorry that your trip back this time ain't filled with as many 'yam cha' sessions as we'd like. Maybe the next time. I pary the next time you come back, it'll be for good. LOL.

To JG all the best to you and you new leadership post, you'll do fine, you were a great second, so great in fact, you should be a leader. And the rest of NACL, I'll be back as your fearless and dim-witted leader soon enough, hang in there guys.

To UTAR Journalism class of June 2006, I send my thanks and greetings to all of you, till I see you guys after the internship period. I hope you people are doing ok.

To all those who have made this retarded journey of mine a little less retarded, I thank you.

Picture of the Seremban Trip.
Courtesy of Baby-V
Due to my camera not being able to take photos anymore and me forgetting to bring a camera to Seremban, I had to nick these pictures of Baby-V.
Its only a few so enjoy.
Traffic was pretty good going down to Seremban. However there was heavy rain on the way back. Real heavy. My new car's first outstation trip and it ran well for a 5 year-old car.

Where the magic is made. King's Beef House. Well it'll be unfair to call it only a noodlehouse coz' they have rice as well, but everything is beef so, 'Beef-house'.

A happy and contented kid.

Iain (Rancor), Mien Mien (Just Hyper) and Caxton. Cax got a ticket, on a SUNDAY. In SEREMBAN. LOL.

Icy cold iced lemon tea. Awesome stuff. The prices were a wee bit expensive but worth every penny.

Realiz that there isn't any pictures of the beef noodle? Its coz you need to go down there and try it yourself! Ita a row in front of the new The Store supermarket in Seremban. Go check it out. LOL.

Now for funny quotes:

*A personal joke*

Whales: (Points to TV playing God Of Gamblers 3, and says) "Choi san dou" (God Of Prosperity Cometh")
Me: Its Dou San(God of Gamblers) LA!

Me: WHY 318!?
Babt-V: Why cannot!

LOL.

Oh well you can defy it if you want to, I have tried. Though comparing yourself to Jesus (Wow you've got to be really holy, though Jesus never really belittled anybody) is low, even for you. Though my methods maybe crude I offer this advice sincerely and even so your pride is in the way (Yes comparing yourself to a DEITY does come off as a LITTLE pompous. Just a LITTLE..). So this shall be the last. I shall silence myself to deaf ears, blind eyes and closed minds.

Goodbye.

I'm done with the free advise column. Thats the last I shall rant on the matter and the person. I hope what ever he chooses (in this matter its defiance and pride, which given, all of us have) sees him through (I seriously doubt it though).

On a lighter note, Sweeney Todd, the demon barber of fleet street is awesome.

On one hand there is the gore, which is always a plus point to me. Then there is the intense acting of Depp and the cast. Then there is the witty and rather dark lyrics. Oh did I mention, the GORE?

Its an action, political, horror, thriller, comedy and drama all packed into one musical that was made into a movie. Fantastic stuff. The 'Mad Man' Burton and The 'Weirdo' Depp combination has yet to let me down. Plus I had good company.

I am rather envious of Whale. LOl she got to cover 'Switchfoot' live in Malaysia. Gah! I am a fan of that band. Not a die hard fan but enough of a fan to get envious. LOL.

And to those who said Switchfoot can't sing live... Appearently they did very well according to my other friends who went.

Seremban!

Beef Noodles! Nuff said but I have to say more. The great fellowship was a bonus. LOL. I had 2 big bowls. Set me back Rm16 but worth it nonetheless.

Pictures and quotes to be published soon.

Happy Holidays Kiddos.

A Gentle Reminder.

To he-who-I-shall-not-name (sigh, AGAIN). Dude, Whales is like one of the only people who treats so well enough despite how you treat people, her included, but even now your pissing her off. Now, this is a few simple guidelines to, at least, keep that friendship between you at Whales. God knows I'm already annoyed with your attitude.

STEP 1.

You do not belittle people's work just because your jealous of their byline even if you do it in a 'nice' way. It just proves that you have lots more to learn, like most of us. You DO NOT call it lucky, am-kong or any other word of that sort. Its still their work and the 'higher-ups' thinks that its good. Who are you to say other wise. A byline for a feature is a byline anyway.

STEP 2

You do not brag about stuff that 'almost' happen. Like your 'almost' frontpage byline. Things that 'almost' happened, didn't happen. No need to tell the world. Its like you craze recognition. That annoys people more often then not.

Just follow these 2 steps and you'd most probably still keep Whales as a friend, cause somehow, She can live with your other Self-Promoting habits.

I may not be perfect but this is a sincere word of advice. I am not qualified to go any further than this. "Let the man who has not sinned cast the first stone". If I were to live by that principal, no one would ever tell you.

Sorry Whales. You asked me to keep this under wraps but, enough is enough.

and Mekz, congratulations on your byline, the mouse really did bring you great blessing LOL.
3 days. Thats how long it took for Jesus to rise again. Its also the amount of off days I get this week. It would be nice save for one damper, I have to sleep on the couch in the living room. Yes its true....

I have finally been evicted outta my room.

The notice was given a few days prior to the eviction as my room is to be given to Mr. Big Brick Wall. LOL. The construction from the front has moved to the back. The new look of my house porch now looks like a very badly designed mix of malay and chinese fusion.

And now they're tearing down the back wall which happens to be my room wall so I can't very well be sleeping there right? Who knows which sick bugger 'will go hump in the night'. Can't let that be happening.

On Clubbing

I 'almost' went clubbing again. 'Almost' coz we got lost and by the time we got there, it was 2 hours before my girlfriend's curfew was up. 2 hours worth of clubbing? Aih.

I also came to the realization I shouldn't go out with my girlfriend, if she picks up her friends. Excluding Em, the rest took a total of 2 hours to get ready. We (Baby V, Em, Eunice and me) even had time to have a nice long (and when I say long I mean LONG) dinner. Upon reaching their place we had to wait another half an hour. Dashyat! They're girls anyways so.... What to do...

By then (Coz I don't like being kept waiting for too long) most of the mood had already died off for me but I still wanted to spend time with V.

Then the call came...

"Eh babe, we move to Maisons,". The song "We're in deep shit" Immidiately came to mind. Its a self composed song so don't bother looking it up. I for one don't like MAISONS anymore. Crowded like crazy.

When we reached only two got out of the car and the rest went to Murni SS2. LOL.

Plans this week end is to meet up with Baby V and Whales and then Seremban on Sunday. BEEF NOODLE!!!!! Woot!

Gah! Lingam's case is on the frontpage, AGAIN!

Why can't he just own up to his mistakes just like Soi Lek did? Then there won't be any 'hoo-haa' about it all. Even if it did cause a commotion, it wouldn't be as much as it is now.Its putting whats left of Malaysia's name to shame.

But then again admitting to that case, would, in my opinion, not only cause him to go to jail but also brand the fourth Prime Minister as a "dirty fellow". That would shatter the dreams of "many" Malaysians.

Sadly, I don't see the end to this pointless case. Its like a game of never ending 'ping pong'.

Yesterday Vincent Tan and Ro. Lazar joined the blame game. And Anwar says there may be more videos to come.

What Lingam has said that it may look like him and sound like him but it isn't him. Then he said he was drunk. then he said he was bragging!? Make up your mind man.

Very soon a new mental illness would be named after him. The "Lingam" Syndrome.

Aih.

Basketball has indeed been more fun with Shern Ming and Shern Way back in the fray. After a few months of not having much of an inside/outside battle (except for maybe Iain), basketball is fun and exciting once more.

The duo known as the 'Bang Bro's' (due to their blood relations and aggresive inside play), unfortunately are going to leave. Soon. And what makes it worst is the fact that Iain is leaving as well. All within the 1st half of this year.

These are some of the only people that can force out the best from these old bones. Sorry Randy, for all your bragging and smug looks, you crumbled under the pressure of my D and I'm an old man, proving once again that you aren't ready to play with the big boys yet.

See you guys, have a safe trip. we'll run it again when you guys get back.
The blog has been revamped. How do you like the new do? Thanks to peero and Baby V for the artwork and the coding.
BaozCatz

Went shopping for blank DVD's for Baby V's brother yesterday and we ended up getting the DVD's and an ornament for my car.

It's kinda cute.

Now if this symbolizes me this is most probably what would happen.

Bite! Too yummy not to resist? More like so annoying! BITE!

And spectators in the car would go....

OMG!!! SO LAME! SOO LLAAAMMEEE!

I apologize for the random-ness of this post. Feeling lame. LOL

Yo peeps!

I got my 1st byline. Yeah what, I've been waiting for. So how do I feel? Kinda sad. Its heavily edited and I wasn't actually expecting it. and I need to get a byline treat. Shoot. Why? Coz I'm broke.

I went to 'Campur Chart Goes Live' yesterday @ Laundry the Curve with Baby V and friends. Met up with Basil, Fabes and Ben (from the 'Pagi Show', formerly known as the 'Big Bang Breakfast Show').

The show featured artists like 'Silent Scream', 'Frequency Cannon' and some rap dude that I don't know. 'Silent Scream' was surprisingly impressive. FC unfotunately proved that they can't sing live well but props for the showmanship.

owh well.

Insane.

I left the house at 7.30am, on a public holiday, to go to the office. I reached home at 11.30pm. Thats 16 hours of work! On a PUBLIC HOLIDAY!? And I don't get paid overtime or extra for it. Awesome ain't it?

Initially I was left in the office with nothing to do. Until about 6.00pm that is. Some idiot chose to run his car into a house at that time. In Selayang no less. SELAYANG!? I know where that is... IN MY DREAMS! I spent my childhood days there but I was never allowed to drive (DUH! Underage!). Best thing is its my 1st week in crime and I got a scolding for not knowing where Stadium Selayang Baru situated. Fine.

The best thing is this, there was no set address given. WHAT!? You want us to go around searching? "Oh its near Selayang stadium" she says. It was about (insert LARGE digit here) km or more in the opposite direction. Luckly the crowd was easy to spot.

Upon arriving, I found out that the house was filled with migrants. Migrants who can't speak English and Malay well (Say what!?Anybody a Nepalese Translator?).

Gah! Multiple plans got dashed on that day. I knew that it would happen one day but I didn't think it would be on a public holiday. Well at least they ran the story. Ja...

Tuesday, January 22, 2008

Lingam stole all The Star's court reporters. They ran out of court reporters and they had to send two crime reporters.

The price of a prank is high people, let me tell you that. The maid that sent anonymous SMSes to Sharlinie's father was at the court proceedings in the PJ majistret court yesterday and I was there.

The maid could be jailed up to 9 years or fine or both. Quite a hefty price to pay right? On top of that she can't be bailed out.

Well its a public holiday again, and I'm working again.

I know its unlike me but it comes with the job. I haven't had much time for anything.

I've gotten a copy of David Tao's album, courtesy of baby V. David Tao has to be my favorite chinese artist. Make no mistake, I still can't understand much chinese, but his music is awesome.

Well thats all for now.

And it happens again!

Another T.K. byline! I am officially a fan. Makes me feel like I should work harder to get my first. I'm just a bag full of lazy bones. Oh well, congratz again.

Let me make out my 1st political post of the year. Its based on my opinion so it account for nothing but I'll write it anyway.

Yesterday, Selangor's dearest Menteri Besar, Datuk Dr. Khir Toyo said the 'dumbest' thing yet. This is how the article started:

SHAH ALAM: Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr. Mohd Khir Toyo Has called on Chinese and Indian voters in the state not to 'backstab' UMNO when making their choice during the next general elections.

What right does he have to say that? Malays get the biggest slice of the cake and they tell us not to choose against them (BN)? I'm sorry, but I know too many capable Malays to believe that they have to be protected. This is why Malaysia will never be really inhabited by Malaysians but just Malaysian Chinese, Indian and Malay. We will never be a country.

The audacity of of Khir Toyo doesn't stop there.

"We hope our Indian friends in the Ijok state constiteuncy will remember our (UMNO) loyalty and not run away from us during the next general election because of Hindraf," he said during the launch of Barisan National Youth and Puteri UMNO election machineries here yesterday.

Say WHAT!? Ok, I, for one, do not agree with the Hindraf movement but has he even given thought to why they went to Hindraf in the first place? If they were already happy with the way the government is ran, in my opinion, they would side with the ruling party instead of Hindraf.

And now the Chinese.

"To our Chinese friends, too, we want to clearly tell not to main wayang with us," he said adding the reminder was in view of the promises by Chinese voters in Ijok to back BN during the April by-election but who later voted against the coalition.

I get a sense of the Chinese sarcasm here. I know if a promise that person A made to me is broken, I am in no obligations to keep mine to person A.

He said the Chinese voters should not be fooled into thinking that the DAP could form a government in the state as a study by Barisan showed the coalition had the backing of 90% of voters.

The current government isn't all that great in my eyes. Why not try a new one? And if you have 90% of the population behind you why worry about those who want vote for DAP or PAS?

Our public figures are so, so funny. 1st, its ZAM with his RAP on Al-Jazeera, then its V.K. Lingam and now this? Well there are lots more but this are the ones I will name.

Unfortunately he is right. The majority is still made out of BN supporters, mostly Malay, and I don't blame them, they are well taken care off, but we can even out the parlimentary seats and hopefully it would give birth to a better Malaysia for all races.

Well thats all.

Sunday, January 20, 2008

I had 2 days off but suprisingly I didn't get much rest over those 2 days. I had lost sleep because of my flu. I've suffered insomnia and a runny nose. Bah. Basketball also hasn't been as as good. I just haven't been performing. Bah.

Well, FGA USJ had their 1st YF of the year and the theme is "SILLY". Now one would think that we would have no problems being silly and we didn't disappoint. I however, was late. Yes I got called back after the senior reporter had a change of heart on the story, so I had to rush back and write it. Oh well the day ended well enough, went our foe a drink with baby V.

Congratulation to Noah and Sam for making it to the leaders circle. You guys make a leader proud. Soon one of you will be captian and the other a wing man. LOL. Funny ain't it?

Now this is a special! Congratz T.K. on your frontpage byline in The Sun today. Awesome job! Talk about beating josh to the punch. Congratulations! Gambate!

Well back to work. See ya peeps!

Guess what, I managed to provoke someone with this blog again. AGAIN!?

Yeah, so what am I going to to about it? I'm going to make it worst. My new years resolution is to not censor my blog. Its supposed to be my takes on life and what I think about life.

To he who I shall not name, dude you're so full of yourself. Well all know you have some amount of talent so please don't go telling me how good you are. I don't want to know. If there is something worth acknowledging I will do it. You don't have to seek it from me or anyone else. It annoys people. If you're good you don't have to tell anyone. It'll sound arrogant if you do. Trust me I'm not the only one who can't stand your bragging. Its laced with so much arrogance and ignorance it bothers me. You for one should know that pride come before a fall and man how far have you fallen. I mean, starting your own fan circle? And having the audacity to start your own fan circle. Man. People are supposed to start those for you. There are many times when I have hinted that you should stop, but you never seem to get it. I'm not even gonna start on how your jokes sometimes get people into trouble, but I guess that happens, some just more than others.

Thats enough of that.

It was a nice change of the normal mundane day when I got to have dinner with not only Baby V but HafutotaJE and Whales. The reunion of the pointless study group. Caught up with how everybody else is doing.

Industrial training has been good. I meet te people I want to meet almost every other day and those I don't, I never do. Not yet at least.

I met a friend from so far back in the day. I knew this dude since I was 11. He's 2 years older and he was around The Star Tower for an interview. Extremely talented musican. A pastor's son. A real good friend. His hair is still as long as ever. Ian, its nice to see you again bro. Oh and congrats Lemuel and Melanie on the birth of your child. May God bless you and your family.

Well gotta go. I got transfered to crime. Dead bodies! LOL
See ya.

Its a new day and I wonder why in the world are the roads in KL so bloody confusing.

Yes I got lost.

I had an assignment in hotel Istana today. Its the opening of a nation wide seminar. And yes I got lost. I seriously need to get around Kuala Lumpur more. Well I got the 17 minites late so I guess I didn't miss much. Its not like the story would get published.

Fooled me once shame on you, Fooled me twice shame on me (or something like that).

I got lost on the way back again! I tell you KL motorists are maniacs. The motorcyclists especially.

I managed to get back to the office in one piece and finish writing my story. Sent it in to the senior I was supposed to anyways. I never seem to be able to report these kinda of events involving prominant political figures. Its such a bore. No offence to those who enjoy it.

Pauline's rat race starts today... good luck Whales.

There are a few people I haven't heard from in a while. Things really do change but no matter, I guess I've changed as well I no longer care as much. Maybe coz of the work time constraint and I'm seeing the person I need to see almost everyday before work so I'm pretty happy.

What I want to do is play basketball. Its been such a long while. Well 3 days isn't exactly long but I want to play.

Saturday, January 12, 2008

Bylines, Parties and Maniacs.

Nothing much happen lately so no updates. I was off from work the past 2 days and I'm bored of sitting infront of a computer, so I decided to go do some gaming and play some basketball. Having Ming back sure makes basketball more fun.

I met up with HafutotaJE last friday. The poor lad seems to be so tired. Well I guess it can be tiring when your doing something you weren't expecting to do. He's a journalism student writing advertisements and copywriting stuff. A waste of a good writer, if you ask me.

Bylines

First of all, congratulations to O.H Sean on his first byline in the Sunday Star dated 13th Jan 2008. After all the hard work being put it, I guess it paid off. Congratz again man!

I'm still waiting for my first byline. I thought I would have gotten it last Friday but I didn't. Oh well I'll just have to wait for a little while more, I hope.

Parties

I went to a party held by a friend of Baby V. Her small gathering turned out to be a full fledge party with DJ's and dance floor and all. The alcohol was free flowing as well. From wine to whisky to vodka, if you wanted it all you needed to do was to ask for it.

The birthday girl, to my surprise is the girlfriend of Joshua who used to play basketball with me.
Well even though I could drink well, I wanted to control my intake. Managed to do that, somewhat. Chelle was stoning most of the party. Poor girl.

Maniacs

Another girl has been kidnapped. Why go for little girls? Sick people. Yes they are maniacs but the maniacs I'm talking about is not these kidnappers.

What has the police done so far? Hunt down the remenants of the sex DVD of a Minister who has gracefully stepped down, that what. Great way to waste money boys.

Idiots. All of them, Idiots.

What they should be doing with their time is to be keeping an eye on these cases, solving them. Malaysia should be a safe country. For all the stupidity and unfairness of this country at least it was safe. Now, even that cannot be supplied.

Well my parents are going to pull another switch that they do so well.

I have my new baby. A 5 year old Kenari Auto. The car is under my name, the loans is under my name and I most probably have to start paying for it once I start working and yet my sister is the one driving it. A girl who hasn't driven in donkey years is most definately going to wreck my car. And my father is going to brush it off, again.

I tell you.... Je reçois des malades de cette famille. Ils apportent favoritisme à un tout autre niveau. Je veux quitter le plus tôt possible.

I might be saying that in anger but ... 21 years of the same thing.. I just don't know how long I can take this.

The world is gonna end!!!!!

Wanna know why!?

I'm working on a public holiday!!!

Waking up early this morning was just torture to my entire being. It goes against the laziness I live for.

Anyways I'm already in the office so, yeah, the world ends today. LOL

I really hope there is an assignment today. It'll be so dead boring if there wasn't. Yesterday was filled with chatting and manga reading. Shoot!

More updates later.

Tuesday, January 08, 2008

Often times you'll have to pry yourself away from your small little window to see the bigger picture and other times you just don't want to know.

Its day 8 of working in the 'field'.

As expected, its lots of fun and it changes day but... I'm tired. and The news scene isn't one that is free, in a sense.

Still 4 stories up so far so I'm not doing that bad but no byline yet.

I ran into Kwong Han Huei yesterday. A fammiliar face is nice once in a while. He seems to be doing well. In fact he's gotten his byline already.

Oh well, I'll perservere.

Monday, January 07, 2008

Well, life as a news journalist isn't as easy as I made it out to be. I knew about the late and erratic hours but unlike a feature story, everything has to be done within the day itself. Which means from the time the assignment is received to the time it is written, there is no time to rest.

But its exciting.

Although, I must admit if I had my long overdue car with me but alas. its gonna be a long day. More oil?

Friday, January 04, 2008

This is the first.

The new year has just passed. There are many things I am greatful for. I dare say I am truly blessed.

However it has not been so with this blog. It seems that my thoughts are rather provoking to 'certain' people (Me? Provoke people!? Naww~) and so it has been left to rot here for a couple of months.

Well here is a short update for you all (Big events only, shall we).

Christmas

Ho-Ho-Ho! Santa loves his ho's. I saw this on a shirt while shopping with Baby V and her brother (correction, not Whales). Well this the season for your vocal chords to be worked to death.

Last minute changes + Last minute practice + Lots of high notes to hit + Mediocre singer = No voice on performance day

Ah yes. The horror. But the 'eleventh hour-ness' of the whole thing was what made it fun. Running up and down, 6 hours of practice, fumbling with words and definately the laughs. Funny.

Received a few good presents this Christmas. A new wardrobe, a new car and a treasure chest. Oh did I mention, A NEW CAR? Well its a second hand one but in good condition nonetheless. Its cause I start at The Star on the third of January, which was 2 days ago.

New years

Well new years eve was un eventful except for, maybe, Stan coming back (Haven't been hanging with him so far though. You know, Girl - factor, for both sides. LOL). On new years day, went out with Baby V for, well lots of stuff la. But that was in the night time. Rest of the day? Gaming.

The Star

First day, first assignment. Second day, second assignment, first spike. First week, first Saturday shift. Over all, I'm loving it.

My OC's are awesome, as the deadline looms, you would want to stay away. I get to call the head editor, Datuk Wong Chun Wai, by his name. I had my first assignment published today. Good start.

***

Well I did say it was supposed to be short. Well thats all folks.
